Most of the “commentary reviews” on here seem to ignore the fact that Sam Raimi goes for an over the top fusion of horror and humor. It’s much less of a horror movie and more of a film version of a haunted house dark ride at the carnival. People don’t like it because it’s much scarier than other horror movies, people like it because it’s FUN.

I don’t know about you guys, but when I watched the trailer I just giggled the whole time. Don’t know how reviewers made such a big deal about this movie. I just laughed at how cliched and cheap some of the antics this movie makes are. If evil grandmas and their demonic and hellish shenanigans are things that actually scares you, then I’d say you must have a very dumb imagination.
Oh yeah, favorite part of trailer: “Oh no, a fly crawled in her mouth, ahhhhhhhh, so scary.”
